Jiacheng Miao is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, advised by Qiongshi Lu and Lauren Schmitz. He develops theory, methods, and software for understanding how genetic variations impact human traits and diseases. His research interests include the reliable use of AI/ML for accelerating genetic discovery, genetic and treatment heterogeneity, and cross-ancestry genetic risk prediction. He has multiple first-author papers in top scientific journals (Nature Genetics, Nature Human Behaviour, Nature Communications, PNAS) as well as top machine learning conferences (NeurIPS), and has won several paper awards.
