Jiacheng Miao is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, advised by Qiongshi Lu and Lauren Schmitz. He develops theory, methods, and software for analyzing genetic data. His research interests include the reliable use of AI/ML for accelerating genetic discovery, genetic and treatment heterogeneity, and multi-ancestry genetic risk prediction. He has multiple first-author papers in the top scientific journals (Nature Genetics, Nature Communications, PNAS) as well as the top machine learning conferences (NeurIPS), and has won several paper awards.
